Welcome to ECG
Music written, produced, arranged and recorded by Robert Hartshorne, and heard around the globe.
Composer for TV, Corporate, Commercials, Film, Theatre…and any other medium hitherto unmentioned. As well as a massive body of work and unending range of styles, Robert is known for being a good ‘tunesmith’…striking themes, chords, and sound beds that grab your attention and really add something to the images. Don’t believe it? Have a Look and see.
Stronger As One
In 2012 Robert was commissioned by the Commonwealth to write a song to celebrate Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee. The Queen had specially requested that the Commonwealth be at the centre of the Jubilee celebrations, hence Stronger As One became very much part of this. Performed first at Westminster Abbey on Commonwealth Day, Stronger As One then reached Number 1 in the UK Charts, coupled with Gary Barlow and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s song ‘Sing’. Here it is, performed by Laura Wright at the Royal Albert Hall and televised by the BBC. All stand, please.
Thomas & Friends
Composer for the BAFTA nominated Thomas the Tank Engine, or Thomas & Friends as those younger visitors to the site will point out, Robert is currently working on his 8th series.
The Making of Modern Britain
Music for the BBC’s BAFTA winning landmark series (co-composed with son, Peter Hartshorne…nepotism rearing its ugly head again)
